Ahead of the 2023-24 Women’s Super League season, Kick4Life today welcomed 8 new signings, including five new players and three promoted from the development team.
The team also unveiled its newest jersey that is proudly sponsored by the Schwitts family in the United States of America.
The team welcomed the following players:
– Lieketseng Molefe and Limakatso Tsaoane, both from Limkokwing University FC playing midfield and up-front respectively
– Senate Letsie, from FC Stoko who plays on the wing (not to be confused with Kick4Life’s Academy graduate with the same name!)
– Reitumetse Namane, a striker coming in from Mapetla High School FC
– Mahali Sepiriti from LMPS FC.
– The team promoted Itumeleng Phiri who plays left wing, Mpho Molefe who is a striker and Tsilelo Mokepe who plays defence or on the wing.
In welcoming the new players, Kick4Life’s country Director Motlatsi Nkhahle asked the players one question, ‘Do you love Football?’ The players responded positively and Nkhahle then gave them a welcome message, saying: “Show that you love football and play respectfully for Kick4Life. At Kick4Life, we respect football because to us, it is not just a sport; it is a tool for changing lives. We hope that in playing, you can change your life and the lives of those you are playing with and your opponents as well.” He concluded by urging the newcomers to play with intention and be inspirations to other players who would want to be like them.
Having been with the girls for quite some time during preseason, Coach Elizabeth Yelimala welcomed her newcomers formally during the unveiling and asked them to work hard, be dedicated, committed and honest with themselves and their teammates.
Also present at the unveiling, the club’s Executive Committee member ‘Maphoka ‘Puky’ Ramokoatsi likewise welcomed the young players to the team advising them to always support one another and work towards maintaining a harmonious space within the team. She also urged them to make everyday a learning day, for them to advance their football careers and wider lives: “Remember, Kick4Life is here to empower young women in sports, and you are those young women, so make use of your time here to empower yourselves and other women and girls around you.”
