Kick4Life F.C. has a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in Lesotho and around the world. Their passion and determination is central to our mission to change the lives and long-term prospects of more children and young people in Lesotho. We’d like to introduce some of our team to you here.

 

Kick4Life Founders

Pete Fleming, Co-founder & Chief Executive

Pete co-founded Kick4Life in 2005 and is joint Chief Executive. He also sits on the Lesotho Board. Pete led the establishment of Kick4Life on the ground in Lesotho creating a successful and sustainable project from scratch. He is now based in Cape Town. In 2015 Pete was named in the Beyond Sport Inspirational 50 list which profiles the leading figures from the worlds of sport, politics, business and social development who have been instrumental in inspiring and facilitating change through sport.

Steve Fleming, Co-founder & Chief Executive

Steve co-founded Kick4Life in 2005 and is joint Chief Executive. In 2010 his book Eleven Stories of Development through Football was published and shortlisted for the Peace & Sport Award, and from 2013-14 he represented Kick4Life as a network board member of streetfootballworld. He is currently based in Cambridge leading the charity in the UK. In 2015 Steve was named in the Beyond Sport Inspirational 50 list which profiles the leading figures from the worlds of sport, politics, business and social development who have been instrumental in inspiring and facilitating change through sport.

Senior Management Team

Hana Taiji, Country Director

Born and raised in Western Canada, Hana studied at Harvard University as a varsity athlete. Her love and passion for football has landed her at Kick4Life where she started as Academy Director before progressing to Country Director, overseeing our operations in Lesotho. With personal and professional experiences in Football 4 Good, Hana is passionate about helping Basotho youth access opportunities that will transform their futures on and off the pitch. She is a former Canadian National U20 Team player and student-athlete in the US NCAA system.

Motlatsi Nkhahle, Deputy Country Director

Motlatsi was born at Qalakheng, Mohale’s Hoek. He studied in the USA where he, in collaboration with educational institutions in China, obtained a BA Degree in Chinese Language and Literatures. He completed a one-year Peripatetic Sociology Research on community coexistence amongst the Chinese and African people, through the Watson Fellowship. He has worked in both public and private sectors in Lesotho, China and USA dealing with diplomatic issues, translation and interpretation, investment issues and research. He joined Kick4Life in 2018 as Operations and Programs Director, before assuming the role of Deputy Country Director.

Mpoetsi Rose Mabathoana, Inn & Conferencing Manager

Rose is a passionate, purpose and vision-driven Mosotho who started her career in hospitality after graduating from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and has loved the industry ever since. She believes hospitality “stems from the manner in which we treat and receive guests in our own homes. We always want to give them the best.” She holds a Bachelor of Art Degree in Culture and Heritage Tourism and is a certified Hospitality Department Trainer and Assessor of the Qualstar grading program conducted by Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation. Rose is determined to lead Hokahanya Inn & Conference Centre as a profitable social enterprise while assuring quality to all clients and to support Kick4Life’s mission of transforming the lives of vulnerable young people in Lesotho. She believes strongly in empowering young Basotho and promoting sustainable economic growth in the Mountain Kingdom.

Sehoai Mohoshela, Restaurant Manager

Sehoai is from a small town in the northern district of Lesotho called Butha-Buthe. She has a strong background in Finance and Business Administration and is passionate about service in the Hospitality industry. Since joining Kick4Life back in 2015, Sehoai has been in various roles within the organisation’s Social Enterprises, gaining experience in hotel management and conferencing. Now leading our award-winning restaurant No.7, Sehoai's creativity and energy is helping to ensure that No.7 continues to offer a first class dining experience to our guest from Lesotho and from all over the world.

Stephen Malefetsane Moerane, Operations Director

Stephen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Theory and Composition. He studied in Eswatini, United States of America and numerous European countries, through the Semester at Sea Program. He has previously worked with the Clinton Health Access Initiative and he is an active member of the Lesotho-US Alumni Association. He has held several positions in different departments within Kick4Life including, being the No.7 Restaurant Manager and Community Programs Director before moving to his current role. He is also hoping to use his musical talents to find new ways of empowering Basotho youth and is a key member of the Kick4Life Choir.

Maleshoane Mokhathi, Academy Scholars Director

Popularly known as “Aunty-Lash”, she joined Kick4Life as a volunteer and became a full time employee in 2013. Lash carries a vast of experience within our programs. As a Life-skills Coordinator, she has played a major role in empowering and developing vulnerable groups that Kick4Life works with. She has also assisted in the promotion of our Social Enterprises and coordinating with the Lesotho Tourism sector.  Having previously served as the Operations Manager in the Kick4Life Academy, Lash now oversees the academic development of our scholars.

Lepe Seetane, Director of Football

Growing up, he started his football career at Black Sundowns and Hunters FC before moving to the USA where he spent 13 years pursuing his academic and football careers. He was awarded a football scholarship to the US at the Northwestern University in Evanston in Illinois where he obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2014. He furthered his studies at the Bellarmine University and completed Masters of Science in Digital Media and Communications in 2017. He joined Kick4Life as an Operations Intern and in February 2018, becoming Academy Director later than year and now heads up all of our football operations including senior and youth teams. He has also played for Kick4Life FC senior men’ team.

 

Chris Bullock, Advisor

Chris Bullock, famously known as 'Bully', is a German born citizen but grew up in Portsmouth in the UK. He holds degrees in Social Sports of Science and Business Studies, and is currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Football Business. As Director of Football for 7 years Chris oversaw all of the organisation's football operations from youth to senior level for both men and women. This included helping Kick4Life FC men's team progress to the Lesotho Premier League in 2014. He has also made a big contribution to the wider football sector in Lesotho, notably helping to promote the women's game at a national level. Chris now supports Kick4Life is an Advisor role.

Ambassadors & Supporters

Tyson Beckford

Fashion model and Hollywood Star, Tyson is an avid supporter of Kick4Life F.C. and is the face our fundraising efforts in the USA. Tyson has hosted a number of events for Kick4Life including our New York Galas.

Giuseppe Rossi

Giuseppe currently stars for Fiorentina in Serie A and is an established Italian international. He has previously played for Manchester United and Villarreal. Giuseppe has been supporting Kick4Life F.C. since 2011, notably backing our 2014 World Cup Fundraising Campaign.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry first visited a Kick4Life testing event in Lesotho in 2008 and has since returned to play for Kick4Life in a friendly match. He was also trained to deliver activities from Kick4Life’s health education and life-skills curriculum. Following the visit he said: “The Kick4Life program is very innovative and it’s making a huge impact in supporting the most vulnerable youth in Lesotho.”

Fabio Capello

Fabio Capello visited Kick4Life in Lesotho as England manager in 2008. Moved by the experience he called on the world of football to do more in the fight against HIV in Lesotho, and invited two Kick4Life participants back to the UK to meet the full England squad!

Lesotho Board of Trustees

Motselisi Ramakoae

Mofselisi has 18 years of work experience in mining, management consultancy and environmental management in Lesotho, with responsibility for organisational structure, stakeholder engagement, and corporate, legal and financial compliance. She has worked for several mining companies as well as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and brings a passion for people and the planet. Mofselisi holds a Bachelors degree in Physics & Physical Geography from the National University of Lesotho and a Masters in Environmental Management from Stellenbosch University.

Lerata Pekane

Lerata Pekane is Chartered Accountant and former President of the Lesotho Institute of Accountants. He has vast experience in finance, auditing and governance in Lesotho and is a strong believer in the power of football to engage young people in Lesotho as a platform for social and economic development.

Matseliso Lehohla

Matseliso is a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Trade and Industry specialising international trade agreements and developing legal frameworks and policies to promote a business climate for local and foreign investors in Lesotho. She is committed to improving the life-chances of vulnerable children in Lesotho and interested in how they can be integrated into the economy via government, business and NGO, bringing valuable skills and perspective to Kick4Life’s F.C.’s social enterprises.

UK Board of Trustees

David Light

David is a former secondary school teacher and now works in the charity sector in grassroots fundraising and community support. He has a passion for education and youth development and has been involved with Kick4Life since the organisation’s inception in 2005. Dave has taken part in three All Stars tours to Lesotho and regularly speaks in local schools in the UK about the charity’s work.

Benjamin Fishlock

Ben is Group Head for a large media owner and brings a wealth of marketing skills and business experience to his role as trustee. He has been involved with Kick4life right from the start and took part in the first K4L All Stars Tour of Lesotho in 2007. An all-round communicator, Ben has helped to shape a number of marketing campaigns for the charity and is always willing to go the extra mile to promote and raise awareness of Kick4Life.

Alexis Oswald

Alex is a senior finance professional working in the leisure and hospitality sector in London. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 he went on to work in mergers and acquisitions before taking a senior management role in industry. Alex believes strongly that sport has the power to unite people around the world in working towards common goals. He is a keen sports fan and has twice visited Kick4Life’s project in Lesotho. 

Nick Ward

Nick is a civil servant working in Whitehall for the Department for International Development. Nick brings a wealth of knowledge on how to successfully establish and monitor large scale development programmes, as well as project management experience from the private sector. Joining the Board in 2013, he is now looking to bring his knowledge and understanding of international development and work with NGOs to the Kick4Life board. A firm believer in the positive benefits of sport, Nick’s passion is for running and cycling and plans to join a trip to Lesotho to see first-hand the how K4L makes a real difference on the ground.

Alden Whittaker-Brown

Alden is Head of the Group Executive Office for a global design and engineering consultancy where he specialises in change management, continuous improvement and commercial efficiency.  These are some of the skills he applies in his work with Kick-4-Life.  Alden has been a long standing supporter, including leading a team of 10 volunteers on an All Stars Tour to Lesotho in 2014. 

USA Board of Trustees

Peter Molloy

Peter Molloy has been the Founding Director at Edison Investment Research Limited since its creation in 2003, and is currently based in its New York office. Prior to this, he spent ten years as a fund manager in London at Sun Life of Canada and Hermes. He has also been involved in a number of other successful start-up businesses. Peter visited the Kick4Life project in Lesotho in 2013 and 2015.

Natalia Sokolova

Natalia has 15 years’ international experience of taking companies in various competitive industries to new levels of success and leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments. She is currently Managing Partner of SGG World, a boutique international consulting and strategic advisory firm focused on Investor Relations, Marketing, PR and Media. Natalia is a dedicated philanthropist and has served as a board member for several NGOs.

Mike Tudor

Much of Mike's 37 year career was spent in senior management positions with the world’s largest, most successful energy company. During that time he led project across the globe including Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East as well as North/South America.  Mike is delighted to contribute to the life changing work of Kick4Life. Mike's first visit to Lesotho was in November 2015.

Peter Holden

Peter has spent the last 25 years commercializing emerging technologies and intellectual property having established three funds to date and taken multiple companies through to sale or IPO. He is a dual UK/USA citizen and has lived and worked in Japan, Korea, Silicon Valley and now New York with home being in Greenwich Connecticut. He is an avid and longtime soccer player (still) and through K4L is able to combine his passion for the game with a deep commitment to supporting youth development initiatives worldwide. He is actively involved in fundraising and has a keen interest in seeing the highly successful K4L Academy model reaching youth in other parts of Africa.

Adrian Flambard

Adrian has over twenty years of experience in international financial services, dealing extensively with expatriates in many countries having lived and worked in Guernsey, Hong Kong, South Africa and more recently New York. He is currently Senior Investment Manager at deVere Group. Adrian is excited to be supporting Kick4Life as a member of the US Board.

Rhett Power

Rhett has extensive experience in international development and has previously worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), serving 7 years in the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia. Prior to that he was Director of National Service Programs for Habitat for Humanity and previously served in the US Peace Corps. Rhett also has a very successful track record in the private sector having co-founded Wild Creations in 2007. The start-up toy company was quickly built up into the 2010 Fastest Growing Business in South Carolina
