Two assistant coaches at Kick4Life, Thakane Senatsi and Lisebo Lesaoana, have embarked on a three-week CAF C License coaching course organised by the Lesotho Football Association. The course, which began on October 28, 2024, is aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of coaches across Africa, preparing them for more advanced roles in football coaching and management.
Thakane Senatsi is currently an assistant coach for the Kick4Life Senior Women’s team – a team she previously played for. Her participation in this course is part of her on-going development to take on greater responsibilities within the team. Thakane’s passion for women’s football and her commitment to helping players improve make her an invaluable asset to Kick4Life and this course will provide her with the necessary tools to further contribute to the growth of the team.
Lisebo Lesaoana, another key figure in the Kick4Life women’s football program, is also attending the course. Lisebo serves as the assistant coach of the Kick4Life Junior Women’s team and coaches the Kick4Life Soccer School program participants during the weekend. Additionally, she is the current captain of the Senior Women’s team, a role that highlights her leadership skills both on and off the field. By completing the CAF C License course, Lisebo aims to expand her coaching expertise and take on more significant roles within the club.
The CAF C License course, which runs for three weeks, is an essential step in Kick4Life’s on-going mission to support the development of women’s football in Lesotho and across the region. With the knowledge gained, Thakane and Lisebo will be better equipped to lead and mentor their teams, helping shape the future of women’s football at Kick4Life and in the country. This initiative underscores the importance of investing in female coaches, who are pivotal in advancing the sport and inspiring the next generation of female players.
Kick4Life’s Country Director, Motlatsi Nkhahle, said: “Kick4Life remains committed to empowering women in football, not just as players but also as coaches and leaders within the game.”
