The service, which will be delivered by Touch Roots Africa – a Lesotho NGO specialising in safeguarding – has been developed in partnership with Kick4Life as part of from Common Goal’s Equal Play Effect programme.

Sport clubs and bodies are encouraged to promote the Safe in Sport Lesotho service to their athletes and participants as a confidential support service, in addition to having their own safeguarding policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms.

Puky Ramokoatsi, Kick4Life’s Director of Programmes, said: “Everyone has the right to participate safely in sports, and the new Safe in Sport Reporting Mechanism provides survivors and witnesses with a confidential way to report abuse and access help.
