Westren signs up for NYC Marathon

Kick4Life Academy Head Coach, Paul Westren is excited to be part of this year’s New York City Marathon that will take place on Sunday 3rd November 2019

The marathon is held annually to raise funds to support the work that Kick4Life is doing in Lesotho.

Westren joined the Academy last year and he has since been impressed by the great impact Kick4Life is making to the lives of young Basotho. He says his experience within the organization persuaded him to join the marathon because he knows he will be contributing to the social development of these young people who are benefiting for the Kick4Life programs.

“I have been hugely impressed with everyone's attitude and willingness to learn. Obviously my main role is Academy Head Coach so the majority of my time is dedicated to the Academy boys. They are a fantastic group to coach and it's very rewarding seeing them grow as people and footballers”.

He further notes that the Academy needs more funding to expand and develop the program so that it can offer additional opportunities to help even more Basotho youth reach their potential.

Despite being the Academy Head Coach, Westren has also had a chance to share his experience within other Kick4Life teams.
