We have power to change the community - Puky

After being part of the 2018 Laureus Summit that was held in Paris in October, Makatleho “Puky” Pitso says women have what it takes to be influencers and games changers in their communities.

The summit brought together over 100 organisations worldwide, which are using sports to make positive changes amongst young people. Puky, who started out as a participant, is now leading women's empowerment programmes at Kick4Life and is also a coach and player in the women’s team.

She says: “This workshop has made me realise that if we join hands, men and women, with one common goal, we can achieve what we want. It doesn’t matter if we are from different parts of the world, if we open our networking lines, we can support each other and surely succeed.”

Puky is already applying what she learned at the summit in her every day work in Lesotho where she delivers a range of programmes aimed at empowering women and promoting gender equality through sport.
