Target exceeded for hearing campaign

Kick4Life has successfully raised the funds needed to provide hearing surgery and hearing aids for Academy participants Bataung Molefi and Jason Naidoo.

Jason lost most of his hearing at the age of 7 and with the funds raised, he will get a chance to acquire the Naida V30 hearing aid with FM system, travel support to South Africa to get fitted and  follow up assessments and maintenance support for the hearing aids.

Bataung faced severe ear infections and difficulties in hearing. He needed fees for restorative surgery on both ears, travel support to South Africa to conduct the surgery as well as follow up care and hearing aid contingency.

A total of $10,000 was needed, but thanks to the wonderful generosity of our supporters we raised over $12,000, generating additional funds that will be put towards the running of the Academy.

Thanking all those who contributed, K4L Country Director Hana Taiji said, “The support shown from all over the world for these two young men in helping them to live full and rich lives within the Academy is very touching. To me, this investment shows that there is a global community that believes in the massive potentials of Jason and Bataung as student-athletes and young leaders as well as in their right to pursue their best futures. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us get here.”

Kick4Life would also like to make a special thank you to Mark Eckerle, who made a very generous donation of $5,000 in the memory of his friend Preston Hirten, who collapsed in the pitch due to heart condition and passed away at the age of 20.
