Refresher training for community programmes

Earlier this year, the Kick4Life Programmes team, organised refresher courses for our life-skills coaches on delivering the Good Health & Climate Action and Girls United community programmes.

Good Health & Climate Action aims to engage and motivate youth around the most pressing health challenges in Lesotho, including, HIV/AIDS, hygiene & sanitation, nutrition, substance misuse and mental health. It also considers the health impacts of climate change as well as promoting youth climate action in Lesotho.

Girls United empowers girls & young women with sexual & reproductive health education, knowledge of gender rights, preventing and responding to gender-based violence, as well as providing referrals to health and protection services. There is also a mixed-gender component to challenge gender discrimination amongst boys and young men.

Programmes Manager Mbulelo Mochochoko said: "It is important to keep developing and motivating current and new coaches, especially given all of the interruptions of the last two years."

Life-skills coach and Kick4Life player Lisebo Lesaoana, added: “We used it to get back on the same page on how we can best continue to engage with the community and shared ideas on how we can maximise our ways of delivering sessions especially during the current times of Covid-19”.
