K4L appoint Nkhahle first Mosotho Country Director

Kick4Life has appointed Motlatsi Nkhahle as Country Director from January 1st. He will be the organization’s first Mosotho Country Director and will lead a fully Basotho Senior Management Team.

Motlatsi takes over from Canadian Hana Taiji who is moving to a Capacity Building role, with a focus on supporting the development of the organization’s social enterprises and long-term sustainability.

Motlatsi was born at Qalakheng, Mohale’s Hoek. He studied in the USA where he, in collaboration with educational institutions in China, obtained a BA Degree in Chinese Language and Literatures. He completed a one-year Peripatetic Sociology Research on community coexistence amongst the Chinese and African people, through the Watson Fellowship. He has worked in both public and private sectors in Lesotho, China and USA dealing with diplomatic issues, translation and interpretation, investment issues and research. He joined Kick4Life in 2018 as Operations and Programs Director, before assuming the role of Deputy Country Director.

Kick4Life Co-founder Steve Fleming said, “We are thrilled to see Motlatsi progress to the role of Country Director and look forward to an exciting time ahead as we continue our mission to transform the lives of young people in Lesotho through the power of sport. We would also like to thank Hana for the fantastic job she has done as Country Director over the last few years, notably helping to build a strong, local Senior Management Team as well as helping the club move towards equal budgets for our men’s and women’s football teams.”
