Mopeli enjoying his role at K4L

Kick4Life legend, Ramatsoso Mopeli says he is enjoying his current role as the team manager after hanging his boots at the end of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

Mopeli played an important role in the promotion of the club from the A-division into the Premier League where he was the captain. He made 46 league appearances during his hey-days and played a centre back position, and sometimes as a holding midfielder.

“I am enjoying my role, it is challenging but I like it. It makes me feel part of the team, I get to interact with the players and the technical team, sometimes I feel like I want to come out of retirement and enjoy the game again,” he says.

He recalls back to their first season in the elite league where they had to avoid relegation and says looking at how the team has travelled, he would be happy to see the boys lifting the trophy someday.

Mopeli also advises the current footballers to respect their careers. “Football is becoming business in our country and fortunately for the current players, there are many opportunities so I advise them to take it serious. One other thing I want to stress is education, it is important for our players to acquire some academic qualifications in case they don’t make it successfully in football.”
