Mike & Laura Goodall to be honored at NYC Gala

Influencers from fashion, finance, and entertainment will join the Kick4Life Gala in New York City for an evening of entertainment and raising funds for our life-changing work through soccer in Lesotho.

The seventh annual gala will take place on Thursday, November 4, at the exquisite Angel Orensanz Foundation in Lower Manhattan. It will be hosted by Michelle Gingras (MSG Network), with other star guests to be announced.

This year we will be honoring long-term Board member Mike Goodall and his wife Laura, for their outstanding contribution to Kick4Life.The gala will feature stories from young people who have graduated from the Kick4Life program and are now based in the United States.

The evening will also include a mezzanine drinks reception, an exquisite three-course dinner provided by Ayza Catering, and live and silent auctions with stunning prizes, including exclusive tickets to global sporting and theatre events, and signed sporting memorabilia. Guests will be entertained with live music from music artist, Meta and the Cornerstones, for a second year after her recent appointment to the New York City board of Kick4Life

Kick4Life Co-founder, Pete Fleming, said: "We are thrilled to be honoring Mike and Laura Goodall for their outstanding support of the scholars on our program. It's great to be hosting such an auspicious event in New York City for a 7th year, raising funds for our life-changing work with disadvantaged youth in Africa through the power of soccer. The United States plays a vital role in our programs and the gala is the pinnacle showcase of our work there. Our boards in the United States have grown a great deal in the USA over the past five years and this will show at our gala this year. The proceeds from the night will enable us to provide an excellent education for these young people through the Kick4Life Academy, supporting them to obtain scholarships at Schools and Colleges in the USA, and to become future leads of sustainable development and social change in their country.”

Lesotho has the world's second-highest prevalence of HIV (23.2%), and more than 160,000 children have been orphaned. Since Kick4Life launched in 2005, over 100,000 young people have taken part in health education and life skills programming, with over 1,000 engaged in broader support. Based at the Lesotho Football for Hope Centre – a hub of social and economic development in Maseru, Lesotho's capital – Kick4Life is committed to empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build a better future for themselves and their country. In addition to the core, programming Kick4Life has successfully launched several social enterprises in Lesotho that generate income for the charity's work as well as providing structured training and employment for young people. This includes No.7 Restaurant and K4L Hotel & Conference Centre.
