’Mamosa stars in national Maths competition

’Mamosa Ramotla, a 13 year old Kick4Life junior women’s team player, and Girls United graduate, has been awarded a third place medal and certificate of excellence in a national Maths competition.

Mamosa, who goes to school at Sefate sa Bophelo and is in Grade 7, competed against 39 other students from different schools across Lesotho.

’Mamosa states that she volunteered to participate when the initially selected student fell ill and could not take part. She expressed her delight at achieving such a fantastic result and says she remains committed to both her studies and her football, having recently been called up to the national under 17 squad.

Kick4Life’s Director of Women’s Programmes, ‘Maphoka 'Puky' Ramokoatsi said: ‘I am glad that ‘Mamosa is helping to diminish the stereotype that football players are not smart academically. This is proof that academics and football do not have to clash.'
