Rapuliana Maime’s first half strike was enough to hand Kick4Life a 1-0 win over Linare and return to winning ways in the Vodacom Premier League on Sunday afternoon at LCS grounds.
The win takes the Motebang Makhetha coached outfits to the 5th spot in the log standings with 24points. They have now won 7 of their 15 games.
Linare were at equal task to the Old Europa as they made some threatening attempts at the goals but they could not get past Liteboho Mokhehle. The latter was called early in the game to stop Mabuti Potloane from scoring in the 7th minute.
Maime then found the back of the net in the 16th minute, showing his skills and dribbling all the way into the box to fire past Maphala Modupi. New signing, Tlou Billet combined well with Mokoteli Mohapi and Teboho Lekhooa to boss the midfield.
With a few minutes before the break, Mokhehle did well to deny Potloane at rebound after Norman Kumatse had hit the cross bar.
Makhetha made an early change in the second half, resting Molemo Ntaote for Mongezi Mologovane. In the absence of Maphika Matobako, Lebohang Tjoloba filled the big shoes to marshal Siyabonga Mkhize.
Lekhooa unleashed a stunning strike in the 76th minute, forcing Modupi into a fine save. The introduction of Tse’ole Ranthimo gave Linare stability to compete in the midfield, and his combination with Potloane gave the visitors hope for an equalizer. Kick4Life however managed to protect their lead until the referee, Rets’elisitsoe Molise blew the final whistle.
