K4L won 4-3 on penalties
After a lot of hard work and dedication since the beginning of the season, Kick4Life 'Juventude' were crowned Maseru District B-Division champions on Saturday 19th March at the Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena after a stunning 4-3 win on penalties against the LMPS Development Team, Simunye FC.
The first goal for Kick4Life was netted by the team captain, Mphale Mphalaole just 3 minutes into the game, before Simunye scored two to take the lead, with Tumeliso Ratšiu equalising for K4L in the second half, taking the game to extra time and spot kicks. The Kick4Life penalties were scored by Mojakhomo, Tumeliso, Senamolele and Mahase.
Kick4Life coach, Mukete Mbho, said, ‘It's great to win, the team is happy to have come out 1st place in the district. This victory shows the development that has taken place behind the scenes.’ He added that the final game was a big challenge, with the opponents having pushed them to the edge which helped them unleash their full potential.
On behalf of the Kick4Life Executive Committee, Makoanyane Letsie said that as ExCo members, they are happy for the boys to have come through to this point. He stated that with all their players being under 23, there have been challenges throughout the league with school coming in the way sometimes, with family affairs other times. He expressed that he is proud of the boys to have made it regardless of the hiccups suffered. He added that they are looking forward to the next game which will be played in TY and that they hope to keep the winning record. He concluded, ‘We also hope the outside world recognise our initiative with these youngsters.'
