Kick4Life finished third in the 2017 Independence Top4 Cup, beating defending champions Lioli 2-1 at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday, and securing the M70,000 bronze prize.
The two-day cup competition started on Saturday with Kick4Life going 2-1 down to Bantu, while Lioli also lost to LCS on spot kicks.
The results meant that both Kick4Life and Lioli would now fight for the bronze price, which the Old Europa side clinched, thanks to Nkoto Masoabi and Ralekoti Mokhahlane’s goals. Lioli’s goal came from Tsepo Lekhoana’s efforts.
Against Lioli, there were four changes in the starting line-up, with Moorosi paring with Masoabi upfront while Mokhahlane marshalled the midfield. The team took the lead in the 29th minute, Masoabi capitalising from Kopane Tseka’s poor defending.
The team went on to dominate the proceedings in the second half. However, they were punished for their laps of concentration in the 88th minute when Lekhoana equalised for Lioli.
There was still time for Kick4Life to push up in search of a winning goal, and good movements between Tseliso Ramafikeng and Tsepang Ntsenyane saw the ball landing on the foot of Mokhahlane who placed it at the far post, beating Liteboho Mokhehle in the 89th minute.
