Kick4Life go into the Christmas break in fourth place after Bonang Mohapi’s late header earned them a hard fought 1-0 victory against Sefothafotha on Saturday.
The win, their fifth in a row, puts the team in the fourth place with 21 points, and still have a game in hand against Galaxy which will be played earlier in January.
Sefothafotha started the better of the two sides and Teboho Mokoma nearly punished Kick4Life for bad marking as he came from the blind spot to miss the target in the 10th minute. In the 21st minute, Ntoa Mphale managed to penetrate infront of the goals but his strike missed the goals with inches.
Kick4Life then started growing into the game and Bokang Mothoana was close to scoring in the 33rd minute. Sefothafotha then got a set piece before the break and it was well dealt with by the defence.
There were some good movements between Mothoana and Kumatse, but the latter’s pass was too strong for Botsane in the 52nd minute. Botsane was later booked for a dangerous challenge on Mphoso.
At the 59th minute, Teboho Lefu pulled an excellent save to deny Mokoteli Mohapi. Rorisang Moabi was also called into action to fist Relebohile Mosebo’s efforts and keep Kick4Life in the game.
When it seemed like the game was heading for a draw, Mohapi turned things around, intercepting the ball and putting it into the net to give Kick4Life the lead in the 78th minute.
Sefothafotha were now throwing everything at Kick4Life and Thabo Masualle did well to clear the ball with four minutes to play.
