K4L trio named in national squad

Kick4Life men's team trio Mokoteli Mohapi, Khubetsoana Kamela and Ts’eliso Botsane have been called into the Lesotho national team provisional squad that is set to face South Africa next month.

The two nations will be facing off in the qualifiers for African Nations Championships (CHAN) with the finals to be played in Ethiopia in 2020.

Coach Bob Mafoso expressed his delight for the players and said they deserve the call up as they played well last season. He stated that the experience the players will gain from this opportunity will benefit the club.

“I am really happy for these boys, they deserve the chance, they played so well last season. What is more exciting is to see them graduating into the senior team because they started at the juniors,” he said.

He further noted that he is hopeful that this will be a motivation to other players to push harder and make their mark in Lesotho football.

The trio have represented Lesotho at the junior level at the youth tournament, COSAFA and performed very well. Botsane scooped three awards at the club’s annual awards ceremony in his first season at Kick4Life.

Lesotho will host the first leg on the 28th July at Setsoto stadium and the return leg will be played in South Africa the following month.
