K4L target first win against champions Lioli

Kick4Life will be looking to get their first win over Lioli when they host the reigning champions in the Vodacom Premier League on Saturday afternoon at LCS.

Kick off is at 13:00hrs

The two teams renew their rivalry after their last meeting where Lioli won 1-0 thanks to a penalty by Jerry Kamela. However, Kick4Life has been on fire this season winning seven of nine matches in the league and only losing once. Lioli on the other hand lost twice, losing to LMPS and Rovers but went on to restore their pride when they beat LDF and Sky Battalion. Last week, they clashed with their biggest rivals Matlama in a match which was not played to the final whistle due to some incidents at the stadium and Lioli were already leading with 2-1.

Both teams have beefed up their squads with Kick4Life having brought experienced Bokang Mothoana and the attacking Tseliso Sejake, while Lioli managed to get back the services of Tsepo Seturumane who joined LMPS last season. Also Thapelo Tale joined “Tse Nala” as a free agent after spending the whole of last season clubless.

Halemakale Mahlaha’s Lioli won the league for the second time in a row last season but they must now confront a player they couldn’t re-sign when Nkoto Masoabi left to join Kick4Life returns. Masoabi was a regular at Lioli’s striking force, scoring important goals for Berea side. This is a much awaited tie as it remains to be seen whether Masoabi will get a goal against his former club.

For the last two seasons, Lioli has been dominating the local football winning league titles as well as cup competitions. Just a fortnight ago, they were crowned Independence Cup winners after beating Matlama 1-0.
