K4L launches climate enterprise incubator

Kick4Life has launched a climate enterprise incubator aimed at supporting young women in setting up and running businesses which have a positive environmental impact. The programme, supported by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, is an extension of the Girls United programme, and aims to support young women in developing successful businesses which pioneer new approaches to climate action.

In this pilot phase the incubator is supporting three young women with business coaching, networking opportunities and a micro-grant to support the development of their enterprises.

The entrepreneurs and their businesses are:

Limpho Thoahlane - Limpho is the founder of Pheha Plastic, a social enterprise that creates plastic recycled products, runs climate change awareness educational programmes and advocates for environmental activism.
Morongoe Falatsi - Morongoe's new company will be focused on manufacturing plastic bricks using recycled materials.
Tiisetso Thejane - Tilsetso is a Pioneer from the rise 2022 cohort, and is working alongside her peers to launch a company that constructs buildings from sandbags as a cheaper and more environmentally-friendly alternative to bricks and concrete.

‘Maphoka Ramokoatsi, Kick4Life’s Community Programmes Director, said: "At Kick4Life we are passionate about protecting and preserving the environment, and this programme aligns with our growing activities focused on climate action, including our Sport for Good climate education sessions. We look forward to working with these young women to support the growth and development of their businesses, and the positive impact they are having on the environment."
