K4L launches animated content
Kick4Life has launched a series of animated content covering topics of health education, gender equality and climate action.
The animations, featuring virtual coaches Kabelo & Lerato, are enabling Kick4Life to reach young people with important messages while normal on-field programmes are suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions. They are being distributed via multiple online channels as well as through socially-distanced community screenings at health clinics, orphanages and schools with facilitated discussions led by the Kick4Life programmes team.
Co-Founder of Kick4Life, Steve Fleming believes it is very important to continue engaging young people, especially in light of new health impacts of the coronavirus including risks of COVID-19 transmission and increased instances of gender-based violence and mental health challenges.
He said: "These new animations include adaptions of our existing curricula as well as integrating new content and links to referral partners for follow up support. We are already seeing a very positive response and plan to continue using the animations to reinforce our normal programming when it is able to resume."
