Lioli win 12-11 on penalties.
Kick4Life lost 12-11 in the penalty shoot outs to Lioli in the MGC Soccer Spectacular on Sunday after the game ended goalless in the 90 minutes of play.
Kick4Life played the game with a youthful squad, Motlatsi Sebapala made his first appearance in Kick4Life colours and performed brilliantly well by saving two penalties, while Thabo Mahlaha came on as a substitute to net a beautiful penalty.
Obakeng Modirwa was excellent in the midfield and nearly scored against his former side in the 16th minute, but his header was saved by Liteboho Mokhehle. Likano Teele almost deflected the ball into his net but Sebapala was alert as he dived to stop the danger in the 23rd minute.
Lioli strong man Kum passed through Mokoteli Mohapi and Liteboho Nkune and fired at goals in the 34th minute. Teboho Ntlama rifled from range and Sebapala denied him, a few moments before the break.
After the break, three substitutes were made at once, Lepekola Seetane, Ts’eliso Botsane and Thabo Masualle came on. Botsane used his pace to trouble Lioli and Shetsane did well to deny him a goal in the 59th minute.
Lioli pressed forward and were winning the set pieces, but Sebapala stood his ground to deny them a goal. In the 80th minute, he outstretched his hand to clear Molefe’s freekick.
