Kick4Life secured bronze medals in the Women’s Super League Top4 this weekend, defeating Basetsana 3-0 in the third-place play off on Sunday.

On Saturday Kick4Life had fallen to a 5-2 defeat against LDF, with the Super League champions taking an early 2-0 lead, before Morakane Mokhothu pulled one back. It was a tough game for K4L with ‘Mathebe Ramphielo incurring an injury that ruled her out for the following day’s game, and with Nteboheleng Mohoshela receiving a red card.

K4L returned with a fighting spirit against Basetsana on Sunday, with Morakane Mokhothu bagging K4L’s opening goal followed by another first half strike from Relebohile Lekhotla, Mokhothu added another in the second half to conclude the 3-0 scoreline, and secure bronze medals for Kick4Life.

Talking to Kick4Life women’s team coach, Elizabeth Yelimala (Lizzy), on how she feels about Saturday’s game, she stated, “I am proud of the girls and how they played in both matches. They did really well considering that some of them are still writing exams and it was our first time today after a very long time.” With regard to Sundays’ game, Lizzy expressed her delight, and said that after the defeat to LDF, her players were motivated to come out with a positive spirit on Sunday and take third place.
