Jason plays in Pretoria for NADL
Kick4Life Academy scholar, Jason Naidoo, was part of the National Association of the Deaf Lesotho (NADL) team that participated in a two-day football competition in Pretoria, South Africa last week.
Jason said: “I had so much fun interacting with people who have the same hearing problem as me. We used sign language when communicating and when I did not understand, they were always happy to assist me.”
He further stated that meeting and seeing his football role models, George Lebese and Hlompho Kekana who are both playing for Mamelodi Sundowns was an inspiration to him.
Jason lost his hearing at an early age and his life changed as he could no longer learn proficiently in the classroom nor interact with his friends. Football was his refuge, and since being part of the Academy, Jason has been provided with hearing aids. This has boosted his confidence and progress on and off the pitch.
