Hana wins Marshall Prize at LSE graduation
Former Kick4Life County Director, Hana Taiji has graduated with an MSc in Social Business and Entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Graduating with distinction, Hana was also announced as joint winner of the Marshall Prize for best overall performance in the programme, having already received a Marshall Scholarship awarded to 'talented students who aim to use their skills and knowledge to do good in the world.' This was based on Hana's work with Kick4Life and Social Enterprise Assist, through which Kick4Life supports Sport for Development organisations around the world in setting up and running their own social enterprises.
Hana says: "I started out primarily wanting to learn how to make non-profits more enterprising, but through the teachings I also became quite fascinated by how private companies can be more public benefit-driven."
Steve says: "Hana joined Kick4Life in 2016 and progressed to the role of Country Director, making a tremendous contribution to the organisation through her work in Lesotho. She also played a key role in helping us to share learning from our social enterprises, working in Brazil and Kenya with other Sport for Development projects. It is wonderful, and not surprising, to see see that Hana has achieved so highly in her studies at LSE and we look forward to seeing how she uses this platform to make more positive impact in the world."
Hana is a former U20 Canadian player and a Harvard graduate.
