Fortune stars at London Anniversary event

One hundred and fifty guests attended Kick4Life's 10th Anniversary event at Brown's restaurant in London on Thursday 15th October. Fundraisers, volunteers and partner organisations from across the decade gathered for the special occasion sponsored by Gem Diamonds.

Star guest Quinton Fortune, former Manchester United & South African footballer, spoke about his desire to help change lives through football. He was unveiled on the night as the latest Ambassador of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation with a certificate presented by Kick4Life young leader Puky (see image).

Puky flew over especially from Lesotho to speak at the event and inspired the crowd with her personal story with Kick4Life, from beneficiary to volunteer to member of staff.

The night was hosted by BBC Sports Presenter Lewis Coombes and included an interview with K4L Co-founder Steve Fleming who spoke about some of the charity's achievements as well as looking ahead to exciting future plans.

Two awards were also made. David Moteane was named Fundraiser of the Decade presented by Third Secretary of the Lesotho High Commission Mrs Matiisetso Ramoholi, and Wayne & Tess Blything received an award for Outstanding Achievement for their role in launching and running No.7 Restaurant and the K4L Hotel & Conference Centre.

The night concluded with a live auction raising £8000 for the charity.

Thanks to all those who came and made it such a successful night.
