CRS partnership aims to reach 10,000 girls

Kick4Life and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) have joined forces in a 13-month partnership as part of the DREAMS initiative to reach 10,000 vulnerable young women and girls with life-skills education.

The project seeks to empower participants with the skills to make informed life choices as well as developing practical skills such as managing personal finances. As such the programme supports Kick4Life's end goal of supporting young people towards sustainable livelihoods and the opportunity to contribute back in to the development of their own communities.

Over 10,000 youth from 21 community councils across Maseru and Berea will benefit from the project. Statistics show that female adolescents between the ages of 12 and 24 from these two districts are most vulnerable to HIV infection as compared to other parts of Lesotho. Kick4Life coaches, referred to as Dream Leaders, will deliver interventions teaching life skills, financial education and employability skills, as well as linking these youth to other important support services and CRS partner programmes.
