5th Annual K4L Gala on October 24 in NYC

Influencers from fashion, finance, and entertainment will join the Kick4Life Gala in New York City for an evening of entertainment and raising funds for our life-changing work through soccer in Lesotho.

The fifth annual gala will take place on Thursday, October 24, at the exquisite Angel Orensanz Foundation in Lower Manhattan. It will be hosted by Mike Geddes – formerly of BBC Sport, with other star guests to be announced. The gala will feature stories from young people who have graduated from the Kick4Life program and are now based in the United States. One of these inspiring stories will be Senate Letsie, who is a graduate of Kick4Life and is currently playing soccer at Columbia College in Missouri. Senate will be taking to the stage to tell her incredible story.

The evening will also include a mezzanine drinks reception, an exquisite three-course dinner provided by Ayza Catering, and live and silent auctions with stunning prizes, including exclusive tickets to global sporting and theatre events, and signed sporting memorabilia including Tiger Woods, Jordan Speith, Wayne Rooney and more. Guests will be entertained with live music from music artist, Marieme, for a second year after her recent appointment to the New York City board of Kick4Life. Some high-profile celebrities and sports clubs are also confirmed including Puerto Rico FC, Sidney Rivera, Philadelphia Union, Marco Fabian, NY Red Bulls and Tim Parker.

The event is sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors, Baycrest Partners, ROKiT Drinks, and AYZA Events Catering.

Kick4Life Co-founder, Pete Fleming, said: "We are thrilled to be hosting such an auspicious event in New York City for a 5th year, raising funds for our life-changing work with disadvantaged youth in Africa through the power of soccer. The United States plays a vital role in our programs and the gala is the pinnacle showcase of our work there. Our boards in the United States have grown a great deal in the USA over the past five years and this will show at our gala this year. The proceeds from the night will enable us to provide an excellent education for these young people through the Kick4Life Academy, supporting them to obtain scholarships at Schools and Colleges in the USA, and to become future leads of sustainable development and social change in their country.”

Lesotho has the world's second-highest prevalence of HIV (23.2%), and more than 160,000 children have been orphaned. Since Kick4Life launched in 2005, over 100,000 young people have taken part in health education and life skills programming, with over 1,000 engaged in broader support. Based at the Lesotho Football for Hope Centre – a hub of social and economic development in Maseru, Lesotho's capital – Kick4Life is committed to empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build a better future for themselves and their country. In addition to the core, programming Kick4Life has successfully launched several social enterprises in Lesotho that generate income for the charity's work as well as providing structured training and employment for young people. This includes No.7 Restaurant and K4L Hotel & Conference Centre.
