We were delighted to recently welcome Wrexham University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor for External Engagement and Partnerships, Moss Garde, who spent a day at Kick4Life engaging with staff, participants and students. The visit followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations earlier this year after Sara Hilton, Senior Lecturer of Football and Coaching Science visited Lesotho, cementing and advancing the partnership between the organisations, within the context of Kick4Life’s club twinning partnership with Wrexham AFC.
The day included energisers and activities with K4L coaches, presentations, a facility tour, and a ‘Day in the Life’ discussion with Academy students, offering an in-depth view of Kick4Life’s holistic model of youth development. Moss expressed admiration for the organisation’s unique approach that blends sport, education, and community service to empower young people.
The visit laid the foundation for further collaborations around coaching, training, education, and internships, as well as opening doors for student and staff exchanges, online learning, and joint programmes in football coaching, sports education, and community sport development. K4L Co-founder, Pete Fleming, said: “It was great to welcome Moss to Kick4Life and to Lesotho, and we look forward to progressing some very exciting discussions and opportunities to drive our shared missions of achieving social impact through sport and education”.
