In what was expected to be a tense and high-stakes encounter, the Kick4Life Women’s Team played out a goalless draw with, Lijabatho Ladies, at Morija this past Saturday. The result, while frustrating in its lack of goals, marked the team’s second draw of the season and maintained their unbeaten record.
Both teams came into the match with high expectations, but despite several attacking efforts from both sides, neither could find the back of the net. Kick4Life had their fair share of chances, with key players putting pressure on the Lijabatho defense, but the opposition goalkeeper and defenders stood firm. Lijabatho, likewise, came close on a few occasions but were thwarted by solid defending and a composed performance from Kick4Life’s goalkeeper. Throughout the match, the intensity was palpable, as both sides knew the importance of this clash in the race for the title. Despite a few moments of brilliance and sustained attacking pressure, the final whistle blew with the score still at 0-0.
The draw means Kick4Life remains top of the log with a narrow lead, just one point ahead of their biggest rivals, LDF Ladies, who remain in second place. Lijabatho, with this hard-fought draw, remains in third on the log
Kick4Life Women’s Team will look to build on their strong start to the season as they face LDF Ladies on Sunday 16th March.
