On Sunday, December 1st, Kick4Life Senior Women triumphed over the Lesotho Defence Force Ladies, securing a 2-1 victory and snapping LDF’s unbeaten run, marking Kick4Life’s first win against them since the final of the “Dare to Dream Champions League” in July 2021.
The K4L team entered the match with great determination and confidence, showcasing the type of performance fans had been hoping for. Molemo Mokhothu opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful long-range shot from outside the 18-yard box, assisted by Reitumetse Namane. LDF, who were used to keeping clean sheets in most of their matches, quickly responded and equalized just two minutes later, and the score was 1-1 at halftime.
The second half saw both teams intensify their efforts in search of a second goal. LDF pushed hard, but K4L goalkeeper Reitumetse Tuoane, celebrating her birthday, made several crucial saves, blocking all shots that came her way. After 19 minutes, ‘Mats’ukulu Motloheloa, also celebrating her birthday, delivered a fantastic pass from midfield, which reached Nteboheleng Mohoshela. She fought for control of the ball with an LDF defender and goalkeeper before passing it back to Puseletso Jobo. Jobo quickly made a precise pass to Lerato Ts’oinyana, who was perfectly positioned in the box, and she finished with ease to give Kick4Life a 2-1 lead.
The final 25 minutes were intense as LDF pushed for an equalizer, but the Kick4Life Women remained resolute and determined. Tuoane’s outstanding saves earned her widespread praise as the player of the match, securing a 2-1 win for Kick4Life.
