Kick4Life completes Winter Camp 2025

This year’s Kick4Life Winter Camp proved to be a highly impactful and engaging experience, drawing close to one hundred learners from Grades 8 to 11. Held from the 16th of June to the 24th of July 2025, the camp offered a dynamic blend of academic support and personal development, creating a structured and enriching environment where learners could thrive both academically and socially.

Each grade followed a tailored academic programme aligned with the national curriculum, covering core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Sesotho, Geography, History, Accounting, and Business Studies. Our team of dedicated tutors delivered interactive lessons, tutorials, and practical exercises designed to strengthen understanding and address learning gaps. Regular assessments were carried out to track progress and ensure effective learning. Beyond academics, the camp integrated a range of holistic development activities. These included the Kick4Life induction programme, designed to familiarise students with our values and operating processes, and a media workshop focusing on presentation and camera etiquette, hosted in partnership with the Kick4Life media team.

Daily Character Enrichment sessions also offered learners the chance to explore life skills, strengthen personal values, and develop critical thinking capabilities.

A special highlight was our Career Day, which exposed students to a variety of professional pathways. Presenters included Shadow a Scientist, who introduced learners to careers in STEM; Kick4Life senior men’s team head coach, Mukete Mboh, who shared insights into the sports industry; and Kick4Life alumna and African Leadership Academy member, Mpati Lets’ela, who reflected on her journey with Kick4Life and opportunities beyond Lesotho. Mpati, a graduate of the Kick4Life Academy, was also part of the ‘Mantloaneng programme which educated young people on the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse. During her Career Day address, she shared how this programme had a lasting impact on her life, helping her make the decision to never use alcohol or drugs; a choice that she believes has positively shaped her path.

Additionally, Thuso Khoarane of Kick4Life Juventude shared his experience in balancing academic and football commitments, while Tsielo Mokebe, currently a student-athlete at Freed-Hardeman University in the USA, offered a compelling talk about her journey from local football to earning a scholarship in the United States.

A particularly notable contributor to this year’s camp was Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Maseeiso Mohato Seeiso (pictured above), who has been actively volunteering with the Academy. Her support extended to the delivery of sport psychology sessions, enriching learners’ mental resilience and well-being. The camp concluded on a celebratory note, with HRH Princess ‘Maseeiso presenting certificates of participation to all attendees.

While the academic and personal development programmes were in full swing, scholars who are part of the Kick4Life development teams continued to attend football training sessions throughout the Winter Camp period, ensuring a balanced routine that nurtured both their educational and athletic growth.

The success of this Winter Camp, marked by strong attendance and a well-rounded programme, reflects Kick4Life’s on-going commitment to nurturing academic excellence, personal growth, and life-changing opportunities for young people in Lesotho.
