Last week we were thrilled to welcome to Lesotho a group from our club twinning partner Wrexham AFC.

The jam-packed itinerary included a Football for Good learning exchange, co-delivery in local schools, fitness and football sessions delivered by Wrexham coaches for our staff & teams, a Welsh-Sesotho language exchange, an introduction to Lesotho’s history and culture, a visit to the stunning mountain region and so much more. We were also delighted to welcome representatives from Wrexham Lager and Wrexham University as well as from Generation Amazing who are supporting the club twinning partnership.

The sessions delivered in schools were co-created by Kick4Life and Wrexham as part of a grant from the Welsh Government’s Wales and Africa Scheme. Coaches from both clubs came together to create the sessions in Wales last year, with a focus on using football to help young people develop key transferable skills for employability including communication, self-discipline and resilience. Through the grant the sessions are now being delivered to children and young people in both Wrexham and Maseru, further strengthening ties between the two countries.
