Generation Amazing backs K4L & Wrexham Twinning

The Generation Amazing Foundation (GA) is proud to support the groundbreaking club twinning partnership between Kick4Life FC in Lesotho and Wrexham AFC in Wales, two football clubs united by their commitment to driving positive social change in their communities.

The partnership was announced on the 19th of February 2025 the Kick4Life Centre in Lesotho, with representatives from Wrexham AFC and GA in attendance.

GA is a human and social legacy-focused organisation launched in 2010 during Qatar’s successful bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Over the past 12 years, GA has positively impacted the lives of more than one million people around the world through its sport for development programmes.

The Kick4Life and Wrexham partnership, launched in 2024, builds on a longstanding national twinning between Lesotho in Africa and Wales in Europe, and aligns with GA’s mission to promote two-way collaboration and exchange between football for development organisations in the Global South and the Global North.

As part of this new partnership, GA will provide funding and technical expertise to help co-develop the Twinning Goals Curriculum, a programme designed to equip young people with essential employability skills, such as decision-making, critical thinking and adaptability – all through the power of football. With GA’s, the curriculum will reach more than 2,500 children and young people across Lesotho, Wales and Qatar, complemented by a series of coach exchange visits between the three locations.

Nasser Al Khori, Executive Director of Generation Amazing Foundation, said: “Football has the power to unite communities and create life-changing opportunities for young people. Through this partnership with Kick4Life FC and Wrexham AFC, we are building a bridge between Lesotho, Wales, and Qatar—using sport as a tool for education, inclusion, and social impact. At Generation Amazing, we believe in fostering collaboration across borders, and we are proud to support this initiative that will empower thousands of young people with the skills they need to shape their futures.”

Steve Fleming, Co-founder of Kick4Life, said: “The club twinning partnership between Wrexham and Kick4Life was initiated during the Generation Amazing Festival 2022, when GA brought together football for development organisations from around the world for a youth festival during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It was here that I first met Shaun Harvey, Director of Wrexham AFC, and we started discussing the idea of a club twinning, to facilitate knowledge sharing and cultural exchange. We are therefore particularly thrilled that GA is coming on board to support this initiative and to create a tripartite connection between Lesotho, Wales and Qatar that will benefit youth in all three locations.”

Jamie Edwards, Head of Community, said: “The partnership between Wrexham AFC and Kick 4 Life is key to our future aspirations as a football club that always puts the community first. With Generation Amazing now joining the partnership will only strengthen the future of the partnership providing vital support in upskilling our workforce.
